Rhythm Doctor is a one button rhythm game inspired by the likes of Rhythm Heaven. Yes, this is the same first line as the Dance Of Fire and Ice rec. Same dev too.
Rhythm Doctor's gameplay premise is simple: you are taking control of a special remote defibrillator with one purpose: help fixing patient's skipped heartbeats. Specifically, most patients hearts skip their 7th beat. So press the spacebar on the 7th beat. Simple as that.
Right?
Obviously the game gets more complicated than that, and I really think the story it tells and the gameplay twists that get implemented make playing through this game's story well worth doing.
I personally prefer A Dance of Fire And Ice over this game, esp. in terms of player-created content (I think the way people go about implementing difficulty in Rhythm Doctor is a bit poorly done, though people do fantastic storyboarding for their levels!), but I do think rhythm doctor does a better job of creating spectacle in its main stages. Enough so that I want to try and do my best to avoid spoilers on that front.
Fun fact: the first playable form of this game was a flash demo released back in 2012, meaning it had an over 13 year development period until its 1.0 release in 2025.
